A scientific specification

Univolt has supplied large quantities of maxi trunking and accessories to contractors on site at the new headquarters of AstraZeneca in the UK.

Based at Cambridge Science Park, the city is now home to one of AstraZeneca’s three strategic, global R&D Centres, alongside Gothenburg and Gaithersburg, and will play a central role in the firms mission to deliver life-changing medicines to patients.

The £1billion flagship scheme is fast approaching completion following an ambitious five year construction programme. The project is now in its final phases of fit out and the vast M&E infrastructure is currently being installed, incorporating the Univolt maxi trunking products.

Dean Hopkinson of Univolt said: “This is a huge project in terms of construction and an incredibly important one in terms of scientific research and development. The design team at AstraZeneca has opted for our maxi trunking for installation across many of the key areas of the site with work currently underway.

“It’s reassuring to see specifiers at this scheme recognising the synergy and many benefits of our products, the aesthetics blending seamlessly with the surrounding environment, enhanced further by guaranteed durability and functionality.”
