A sterile specification

Univolt has seen large quantities of its UPVC tray chosen for installation throughout the new Cleveland Clinic hospital in London.

The world-renowned private healthcare clinic is set to make its UK debut in London at 33 Grosvenor Place, near Buckingham Palace, in the heart of London’s Belgravia.

The eight-storey, 325,000-square-foot-building is currently under construction and is set for completion in 2022.

Univolt/Basor PVC tray is recognised as the perfect specification in a healthcare environment where the material will house the cable network infrastructure with no detrimental affect on the magnetic components used within a surgical environment.

Steve Davis of Univolt explained: “A metal cable management solution could potentially cause disruption to complex, and highly sensitive surgical machinery used throughout Cleveland Clinic. The use of a PVC tray mitigates any possible disruption, providing a sound containment unit whilst eradicating any potential threat.”

He added: “This is a “state of the art” private hospital and the refurbishment works are detailed and precise – it’s great to see one of our products chosen for this project where its recognised as the perfect specification.”

Once complete, Cleveland Clinic London will have 184 inpatient beds; eight operating rooms; a full imaging suite; endoscopy and catheterization labs; day case rooms for surgery; and a full neurological suite with rehabilitation. The facility will offer specialty services focusing on general surgery, cardiology, orthopaedics, and neurology.

Cleveland Clinic is one of the leading providers of specialised medical care in the world, focused on providing clinical excellence and superior patient outcomes. It is an integrated healthcare delivery system with hospitals, clinics and wellness centres in the U.S. (Ohio, Florida and Nevada), Canada (Toronto) and the U.A.E. (Abu Dhabi).
